Victorious Vikings

Today, year 5 were visited by Andy the Viking and Steve who organised a brilliant day of Viking activities. The children started the day by sharing their knowledge of Vikings. We were so impressed by how much they knew considering they started year 5 knowing very little about our Norse friends. Well done everyone. We learnt how Vikings lit their fires and heard a Viking myth. After break, we ground our own flour and made some oatcakes. After lunch, we learnt about Viking runes and their meanings before making our own personal rune stones. We then went back outside to develop Viking warrior skills before engaging in a battle.

A massive thank you to both Andy and Steve- the children and staff had a fantastic day.

Here are some photos of the afternoon, kindly taken by our very own Mr Digital, Lee. We will share some photos of the morning shortly.
